Eligibility

1. A candidate seeking admission to the BSc Fashion Design program shall have passed the Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC) examination (10+2) conducted by the Maharashtra State Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education or any other State Board, or an examination recognised as equivalent thereto by a recognised board or authority, in any stream (Arts, Commerce, or Science). 


2. The following examinations shall be considered equivalent to the HSC examination, subject to recognition by the Association of Indian Universities (AIU) or other competent authorities: 

a. Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) 
b. Indian Certificate of Secondary Education (ICSE) 
c. International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma 
d. Cambridge International Advanced Level (A Levels) 
e. General Certificate of Education (GCE) Advanced Level 
f. National Institute of Open Schooling (NIOS) – Senior Secondary Certificate g. Any other examination recognised as equivalent by the AIU or other competent authorities. 

3. Candidates who have successfully completed a two / three-year diploma programme after the Secondary School Certificate (SSC / 10th standard) from institutes approved by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), or from equivalent national or international technical or vocational education boards recognised by competent authorities, shall also be eligible for admission. 

4. Admission through lateral entry to the Second Year (Third Semester) of the programme may be considered for candidates who have successfully completed one year (two semesters) of: 

● a Bachelor’s degree programme such as Bachelor of Design (B.Des.), Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.), Bachelor of Arts (B.A.), or other allied  design,  creative, or related disciplines, OR 
● a Bachelor of Vocation (B.Voc.) programme, OR 
● a three-year Diploma programme pursued after the Secondary School Certificate (SSC / 10th standard), from institutions recognised by the University Grants Commission (UGC), the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), or other competent national or international statutory authorities. 
Such admission shall be subject to: 
● Equivalence and relevance of prior academic qualifications 
● Curriculum alignment and credit mapping in accordance with NEP 2020 
● Fulfilment of the programme’s learning outcomes and skill requirements The final determination of eligibility for lateral entry shall be made by the Institute, and may include an aptitude test, portfolio review, personal interview, and/or bridge requirements, as prescribed.
